Today we attended a messy play date. The girls played in a sandbox, played with moon dough, sidewalk paint, finger painted, dug for treasures in frozen jello, colored with markers, and frosted some sugar cookies. They had a blast and was very sad to leave. I love when we get out of the house and engage with other kids. Rhem has really started to open up more, and make friends when we are out and about. Sometimes we get worried, because she often likes to stand on the side lines and watch kids play, not really engaging in any conversation with anyone. But since we got our cat, she has become way more social. She loves telling everyone she meets about her kitty at home, which she seems to use as an ice breaker, then she is up for playing and singing and being a goofy 3 year old with her new found friends. Hadiley, being only 18 months, doesn’t engage in conservations, but she seems to be a go getting and loves to follow bigger kids around. She doesn’t seem to care much about socializing with kids around her own age though, haha.
The girls really seemed to love getting all messy, so while they are napping I made some playdough for them to play with when they make up. It was super easy, and extremely soft. I used 2tbs of conditioner, yes what you wash your hair with, and 3 1/2 – 4tbs of corn starch and knead with my hands. the end. I am excited to let the girls play with it when they wake up, and bonus, it makes your hands super soft in the end! 🙂
until my due date that is. Crazy. I am so excited to welcome our first boy with in the next couple weeks. I cannot believe today is already August 1st! Where has time gone? Really! How do I now have a 3 year old child AND an 18 month old child AND soon to be newborn? I feel like just a year or two ago I was still in highschool dating PJ, but here we are, 7 years has passed. 4 years of marriage. and soon, very very soon, three kids. We have definitely been blessed.
Rhemidy is growing more and more excited, constantly asking WHEN her brother will be here so she can hold him. I already know, seeing how she treats her little sister, she will be an AWESOME big sister to baby boy as well. Hadiley, on the other hand, will be up for a rude awakening. She does seem to love babies, and likes to help me whenever I am watching a baby, but she still NEEDS to have me lay with her to sleep and will not go to anyone else. (The other night PJ tried to get her to sleep and she screamed to the point of making herself throw up, a thing Rhem use to do, and it took me until MIDNIGHT to calm her down and get her to sleep. Bah. I created a monster! 😉 ) I know after a couple months Hadiley will adjust and be an awesome big sister just like Rhem. (although she really needs to start learning this whole gentle and sharing thing…)
(For those NOT fasinated by pregnancy/birth related things and what it does to your body, the rest of this may be TMI lol)
Anyways, I had my midwife appointment yesterday, I am only 1cm dilated, 50% effaced. My cervix is already extremely soft and stretchy so that is good, and he is head down but seems to have moved up higher. Stinker. With my cervix being soft, they said once he decides to drop things should start up right away. I really am prepared and totally fine with going past the EDD (seeing as it is what it says, and ESTIMATED due date) and I want this baby to come when he is ready, and I will not force him with an induction, but boy, I am SO ready to meet and love on him! I am hoping I get to see him sooner than later, but with only 9 days until my due date I know it won’t be much longer.
38 weeks. 5 days.
We are excited to meet you baby boy! Seen you soon! 🙂
This week has been filled with girls. While my sister has been subbing, I have been watching my three beautiful nieces and Rhem and Hadiley LOVE it. Rhem is glued to her big cousin, Leona’s hip. But also making sure she makes time to feed at least one bottle to baby Lana. Hadiley watches Toria and is sure to run and take anything that Tori attempts to play with, just so she can hand it back to her, as if she is giving her permission to play with her toys. You can imagine how loud my house has been these last few days haha Thankfully all the girls seem to be very happy (expect for nap time, but that is expected. Why kids hate nap, I will never understand, because I LOVE when I get a chance to nap! haha) Gosh we sure to have a lot of beautiful girls in our family 😉 And this boy is going to be smothered with love by all these females in his life (and probably will receive a lot of Sass, too!)
*Rhem was in a “DON’T TAKE MY PICTURE, MOM” type mood today. stinker.
Today Baby boy is 30 weeks. 10 more weeks!!! He is the size of a cucumber. (15.2-16.7 inches in length, 2.5-3.8 pounds)
On Friday I went and had my second glucose blood test. I am expecting it to come back negative, since I had negative result with both girls, and my first test at 22 weeks was negative with this pregnancy, but they insisted I take two, since I have big babies. My next appointment is this upcoming Friday, which will just check my blood pressure, and babies heart beat. I am so excited we are in the final 10 weeks of pregnancy. I cannot wait to meet this little guy!
This weekend I was able to find this awesome dresser/changing table for the boy (for only $20!), and got the top drawer filled with all his pocket and prefold diapers 🙂 Next I will be placing all his adorable little clothes in. 🙂
Next weekend we will be getting family pictures and maternity pictures done! I am so excited. Our last family pictures were when I was pregnant with Rhem, so it will be good to have some with both girls haha. This week is also the hubs birthday. So we have a busy, but fun, week ahead of us. 🙂
1. Rhem woke up very happy today, knowing that after 2 weeks that seemed like months, daddy is home. And he brought her new Army pajamas.
2. Hadiley also got new pajamas, she also seems to think that brothers car seat is a toy for her…
3. Baby #3. Boy. 29 weeks. 5 days. Feeling pretty awesome, just outrageously tired all. the. time.
Today baby boy is 29 weeks. 11 more weeks to go! He is about the size of an acorn squash in my belly. (15.2-16.7 inches in length, 2.5-3.8 pounds)
Last check up was on Friday, His heart rate was 150. He is my little ninja baby, constantly on the move. Big Sis Rhem is getting very excited for his arrival, constantly asking when baby brother will be here, and informing me she really wants to hold him. 🙂 Big Sis Hadiley likes to play the drums on my belly, points and says “baby,” and likes to smell my belly. (She saw Rhem kiss it, and she thought she was sniffing it, so now Hadiley smells it and cracks up laughing.)
So far I have his diaper bag prepared, washed all the cloth diapers last night, and have been looking up ideas for newborn pictures. Still wanting to get a mini crib for him (we currently have our bedroom in the upstairs, fitting our king size bed, with our regular size crib side carted. However we are finishing up the house and plan to move our bedroom downstairs in before he gets here and the bedroom down stairs is a LOT smaller and we would not be able to fit a regular crib AND our king size bed in there, especially add in a dresser and rocking chair) and we either need to get our old car seat out of the garage and get it cleaned up, or look into buying a new car seat. I will wait another 6 weeks before I start packing my hospital bag.
So far this pregnancy has been fantastic. Very little morning sickness, I get heartburn, but not every day like with Hadiley. I had bad headaches the first two trimesters, but none so far in the third.
I am so excited to meet you, baby boy! Just 2 more months and a week or two. 🙂
1.Rhem. My little bunny, constantly jumping around and off of things.
2.Hadiley loves outdoors and following her sister around. She saw Rhem was picking flowers, so she decided to pick me some, too. 🙂
3. Baby number 3. Boy. 28 weeks 4 days. THIRD TRIMESTER! Super active. I feel huge, although was happy to find a pair of short I bought before this baby still fit 🙂 although it isn’t all that comfortable.
